Artist's Statement
My goal in art is communicating. Each painting begins with a concept, and then I concentrate on design and technique. I look for subjects drenched in light and strive for a creative response to the effects of light and shadow. One of my main goals is to continue growing creatively as an artist. By choosing to paint ordinary subject matter, I seek to help the viewer appreciate the beauty all around us. I strive to express my joy for this gift of beauty through painting.
